Genuine Finnish whisky made from rye
Kyrö whisky at its purest: only Finnish wholegrain rye, never filtered at any stage. That way we get all the flavour out of the grain.

Kyrö Peat Smoke
Rye ennobled with peat
Two whisky traditions in one. Finnish peat lacks the sea salt and iodine of island peat, so the smoke is more resinous and herbal than in island peated whiskies.

Finns eat six times more rye than the rest of the world. Yet nobody in Finland was distilling whisky from it. So we decided to do it.

The idea was born on the sauna benches in 2012, as five friends sipped American rye whiskey. It seemed unbelievable that nobody in this rye-loving country was distilling whisky from it – so we decided to do it ourselves, in an old dairy on the banks of the Kyrönjoki river.

Private casks

Get a 30- or 60-litre oak cask of Kyrö whisky – on your own or with friends, colleagues or family. You'll follow the maturation at tastings twice a year, and the finished whisky is bottled under your own name.
